  • Remote solenoid install

So I'm re locating the battery to the trunk
    in the '55 Chevy.
Got me some 2/0 cable and am routing it
through inside of car towards front.

    Question....remote solenoid
Anything I should consider when wiring it up and
    place to install it?

    Re: Remote solenoid install

Keep it away from high heat, things that can short the contacts, and water. I'm a big believer in running the cable through the inside of the car, but it's also wise to have a high amp, resetable fuse at the battery in case something grounds the line.... also watch the hole through the firewall - use rubber grommets. Last, the ground is as important as the power - I've had more trouble with my ground getting funky then problems with the positive side.

I always use the body of the car as my ground. Just make sure to use grounding straps from the frame to the motor.

        Thanks for the heads up.
I plan to run a good ground wire from bellhousing
        to frame

I guess that Ford part won't interfere with perfromance

thought running through the car was a no no, per all racetrack governing rule books..

haven't seen a rule book in a few years.. but I think thats the reason i ran mine under the f body
