700r4 Question

Is there any difference from a 3.1 or 2.8 v6 700r4 trans and a v8 700r4 trans? I seem to remember reading the bellhouseing is different. Any help would be appreiated.

bell is smaller on 2.8 v6. converter also. dont interchange with v8

Input shafts are also different.
One from a 4.3 would work.

uses fwd bolt pattern and a teeny convertor , good for a rwd northstar swap , but the northstar would probably tear it up

Thanks for the replies guys,,I did not think it would work. Someone wants to trade me my v6 700r4 for a t5 5 speed. I believe all t5's are the same except for the bell houseing, is this true? More help please...

I'm sure there are more differences, but I know there are at least two different input shaft's, GM and Ford.

The t5 is out of a Camaro 305, my 3rd gear sincronizers are bad in my GTA, I think it should be a direct swap,,,,,,?
