I just picked up a few parts for my ranger drag truck.
8.8 axle from a ranger to replace the 7.5 in it now, and a C4 trans from an older mustang with a straight 6.
I know I can't use the bellhousing from the straight 6 - but is the gear case interchangeable?
I'm going to want to upgrade the input shaft to a hardened 26 spline unit, I already have a deep cast pan and pick up from summit....
I don't think I'm going to put a trans brake in it - at least not for now.... just foot brake it and keep it simple. I already have a converter from another project I hope to reuse (26 spline)
any advice on 157 vs 164 tooth flexplate (SFI of course)
