Any tips on installing header tape?

I purchased the small worm gear kit 8 8" long, 4 18" long.
Also use brass or SS safety wire?
    thanks

    Safety wire works well.

Do you have a heat issue under the hood? Ask around, I think you'll find that header wrap kills the pipes pretty quickly. I wouldn't do it unless I was having a problem, and then I would just make a heat shield if I could.
There are very few people in this world who's opinion I value, you are not one of them.

Have you already purchased the header wrap?

      ( Not familiar w/"small worm gear kit" ??? )

We're now using the copper-impregnated header wrap.

We do not have any "horror-stories" to tell

about wrapping headers, although we've heard

a few, but have seen zero. We've used wrap

on N/A & Turbo engines w/o any header probs.

      On non-ceramic coated headers we'd shoot 2-3

thin coats of silver metallic VHT on 'em before

the wrap went on, so the paint "bonds" w/the

tube & the wrap as it heats up & cures. Now,

all we're using were already ceramic coated.

I have ceramic coated headers, and I am going to wrap them to help with under hood heat.
The worm gear kit are very narrow hose clamps.
I will paint headers first if it holds tape on better?

        thanks

Eh? That's redundant. Coated headers will be 200F or so cooler anyway. And you'll void the warranty on the coating and generally ruin it.

I need enough to cover about a foot of exhaust pipe for my scooter. The pipe runs right under the stator and overheats it if I run wide open for a mile or so, causing the thing to die on me until it cools down ... anyone have a few extra feet they didn't use?
