We didn't have a CEL either. We grabbed the Service books and checked everything from the EGR Valve which was good, Changed the PVC Valve, changed the plugs to find that PITA number 7 wire burned though and came in contact with the manifold.
Ran great for a few days till it got cold again and started stumbling like you are describing. Come to find the temp sensor when we probed it was reading wrong and actually leaning the car out. We changed the Temp sensor and then the CEL came on cause the wiring leading to the sensor were broken. Replaced that wire all the way back and the car been running great since that was fixed.
