  • 88 chevy truck

I just swaped a motor into an 88 chevy pickup. It runs great but ever since the swap the speedo is bouncing all over and will read 80 mph even in park. I hooked up all of the wires as they were before the swap and it worked before the swap. All of the other gauges work fine. where should I look?

YOU CRUSH the sensor wire.. it is a wire not a cable?

Is there still a gear in the system before the wiring? maybe the gear didn't mess right when you put it together?

My Dodge van did this after having the battery out for awhile. It just cleared it self up after a couple of days. I hate computers!

Your vss in that truck is partly in the instrument panel, and you gotta have the right sender in the trans...if you swapped the trans at the same time. Or possibly you just mushed a wire.

trans never came out of the truck. I will be getting it back next weekend to try and figure it out.
