Well got my lift the other day and started putting it up... Got the columns up and started anchoring it down over the weekend... Sunday a friend came by and help put up the overhead support... Today I got the cables in and wire up the pump... I made my first lift of the 52 truck and all seem good... Do need to by a couple more extension 6" the lift came with 2- 3" and 2- 6" ... Will try out working under the truck fri. putting cut outs on

I got mine from Greg Smith, was supposed to get free frame adapters, just called and they sent more. You might want to make sure what you were supposed to get and tell them you didnt get them if they were all packed in the crate from overseas where they make them all. I dont think they check what is packed in there and are used to people calling and getting stuff they are missing. -
they are all basically the same brand. I got the Atlas extra height from Greg Smith. I chose them because they are relatively close in Indiana and they actually stock replacement parts. I checked all of them, wanting to buy american, but they just dont exist. I was told even Bendpack, the most expensive and one you thought would be fabricated here is not made in the US. As far as the concrete, they just said 4000 psi concrete, the pad on the base of the columns is huge 3/4 thick and would probably support the weight if it was just pinned in place. Dont know where you would be installing it, if its outside I would just pour a pad like a footing, but they will be able to answer your questions.Comment

the one I bought is a launch 10000 symmetric the concrete in my garage was around 4.5" thicker than I thought and there is no rebar... The Launch lift I got is the TLT210-AS is also the Derek Weaver W-10DE ...The Launch is from Aresco and is $2495 out the door with anchor... Weaver W-10DE is $2095 plus tax & shipping unless you pick it up...Aresco was 20 miles away and has a complete parts warehouse made it easy...Originally posted by Saltfever View PostThanks for the information. thats a nice lift. I like the arm stops, looks almost ratchet action, and the extra gussetts on the foot pad are nice, even though I trip over crap down there all the time lol. About the only thing that looks the same are the yellow arms. If you go thru all the pictures of different companies, you find more than one that is the same thing different letters. That is definitely different than the atlas and as long as parts are available, its nice.Comment

Was using the lift yesterday to install elec cut out... It was nice to walk around under the car instead of crawling... So far it seems to be a good piece time will tell need to get a telescoping jack for trans & rear ends Also a oil drain... been thinking about a beam and trolly off the lift to the wall for pulling enginesDrag week 2009 Quickest street rod

As far as oil drains, just make sure you get a good funnel. I saved a few dollars on one missing a funnel and getting one that fits right and doesnt tip around is a tough task. The tranny jack we went with the air powered, see too many pumping pedal lifts look like a pain, but the air guy seems to have a mind of its own. Give it air and it wont move, then it jumps 2". If I were to do it again I would go pedal, although we probably just have some chips in a fitting somewhere that is not making it work right.
Just dont add much to the lift itself as far as a beam and trolley. We got a piece of equipment in on this ginormous hardwood pallet, about 9 feet long, 5 feet wide. Its the perfect size to fit between the arms of the lift and make a table, a various height table. We have used it as a jig to weld our shop carts on, really decent idea to utilize the space if a car is not up and if you need floor space, you lift the table as high as it will go. So if I were considering an engine hoist, you maybe get a nice steel beam you can weld a pin to the size of the hole for your pads and lift that beam with the trolly with the arms. At least that way you know you are still using the lift to its design. I dont know if you could necessarily use the hydraulics to lift the motor out as you roll the vehicle around and away, but its a thought I had.Comment

not quite what I was thinking... I got a pair of tall jack stands, an oil drain, and a trans jack at greg smith at the same time I got the lift. Not sure how I ever lived without them. Greg doesn't carry Whip lifts anymore like mine - it was made in TX.There's always something new to learn.Comment

Ya they carry Atlas lifts now, that's where I bought my lift.
