  • Carter AFB carbs

I have a couple of AFB's that came on a dual quad setup I have. One of them is # 3721 SA. The other one is #3721 SB. They are both supposed to be 575 cfm. What if any is the difference between the SA and the SB carb?

I don't know, but those are probably worth something, you'd be surprised what mid 60s corvette restorers will pay for the original parts for their cars.

Believe or not the factory dual quad carbs had different numbers for the front and rear. You should see what guys are getting for original Hemi AFB's with the right numbers.

the old Chilton book lists only the 3721S (1964) and 3721SA (1965)

Most likely only one of them has a choke-mechanism or idle-adjustment.

the carb number he's talking about was used on 64-65 corvettes, single 4bbl, they are NOT carbs designed to run as dual quads.

Squirrel, mid 60s Corvettes never used AFBs in pairs (single only), they used WCFBs and you are correct, that Corvette restorers will pay good for them. AFBs were used on Pontaic and 409 Chevys as well as some Nailhead Buicks, (in pairs) but not on Corvettes.
