  • Some Scans of 1960's, 1970's Ford Engines.

I thought I would share some scans of some old FoMoCo prints I used to have. I got rid of the originals a while back, but scanned some before I did. I posted some on FordFE.com, and thought I would share them here as well. Here are but a few for now...

    1969 428 CJ

    1966 289 Cutaway

    1971 429 CJ

    1970 Boss 429

I don't think I've ever seen those valve covers before. Mine came with the ribbed cast aluminum ones, and I've seen the ribbed ones with "428 Cobra Jet" and the snake, and the "Powered by Ford" chrome steel ones, but I've never seen those. Neat.

That one also has the smog pump on it, were the ones you've seen equipped with a smog pump? That could be why those value covers, in '69 it probably wasn't to common.

I can see why Ford dropped that "cutaway" series of engines. All the fluids would fall out, and the compression would be way down on a couple of cylinders.

It was actually due to vacuum lead issues. :P

Here's some more Old FoMoCo prints...

I got these about 15-18 yrs ago from a Retiree for Ford's Art Department. The were prints made to help illustrate engineering and development projects, as well design concepts and proposals. Rob Wagle

So what's the difference with regular Ford-engines then? ??? ;D

                      Cool pics though. Nice scans.
I always like those presentation-type factory images.

The regular production engines didn't have half the block and head and oil pan cut away!

                        (it was a joke)
