you're talking GMs? 60 degree V6? should be a different input shaft than the V8 version, as far as I know. Not sure what else is different.

Gearing and input shafts are different, I'm pretty sure the rest is the same.

The V6 trans are super wide ratio, smaller input shaft, and much weaker.

my buddy took the v6 out of his 5 spd full size truck and dropped in a 350 had a mean 1st gear, acts like a granny gear when origonally it was a normal 1st. he never broke it and he isnt a very good driver, lol

I've heard a lot of guys bash T5's -- I beat the snot out of my '90 302 mustang - launched it (drag radials not slicks) from 1500 all the way up to 5000 rpms - side stepping the clutch. I power shifted it plenty - and kept the fluid changed, this was behind a stock short block (stock cam) with a complete twisted wedge top end, headers, etc, 3.55 gear in the 8.8.... never once had a problem with it - probably 300 some runs at the strip and several thousand miles on the street.

I never had good luck with em.

Out of the pile of fox Mustangs I owned,
only one of them didn't have some kind of issues
                with the T-5 in it.
They are only rated at 315lb.-ft. of torque in
W/C trim, far less if not.

                I would use the Toploaqder.

Are the Tremec's faring well behind Higher HP engines?

                    I sold a brand new TKO-600 to a customer
w/ an 03 Mach 1 equipped with a Vortech SQ,
                    It's still there.

When looking at them before I bought a TKO-600, they said the weakest point was the syncro's not allowing a shift into 3rd above 7200rpm. There are a few fairly simple aftermarket mod's to correct this. A few reports pointed to twisted, but not broken input shafts. I figured I'd be safe with my low rpm, relatively mild torque Buick. For the six months I ran one before pulling the engine I was very happy with the transmission. Especially the neutral safety and reverse light switches being built into the trans.
                      Escaped on a technicality.
