what are the advantage and disadvantage of center vs side floats. i have a 380 + hp bronco and i use center hung floats with spring loaded neadle and seats but many other 4 weel drivers prefer the side hung floats. my truck dosent see a lot of mud but i do ride in a lot of sand and during hunting season i drive on a lot of messed up washed out up and down georgia clay roads and trails and never had any problems. just wondering what yall think

Most of the hard core guys run EFI so it never enters the problem unless your on the lid :

on the diffrent trails in georgia and alabama that we ride on, most of(90%)the trucks(most of which are jeeps) are running carbs. the othe 10% are newer trucks.

Side hung floats will be better for steep climbs and downhills.

If you aren't having problems now with your carb, I wouldn't worry about it. I personally went to FI in all of my offroad rigs, and haven't looked back. I will be running propane in my next CJ6, however.
