Go for a long taper cone in the collector, 5" at least, and I would go to 3 1/2" on the outlet.

I just found out I had made a slight error when ordering the stainless tubing recently; I've bought 2" OD tubes instead of 2-1/4".
This isn't a problem actually. It just gives me some more TIG-'practice' material to make a set headers for a regular stroker-motor first, before I tackle the blower-motor headers.
I've made some headers earlier out of 2 sets of cheapo-steel headers by MIG-welding. Now is the time to switch to the serious TIG-welding I think.
