  • ford truck calipers

The high pinion dana 44 (HP 44) has, obviously, Ford calipers on them. They're a two piston design.... are they worth rebuilding or should I simply swap to the GM stuff?

I think it's pretty much a wash. They're both old and heavy designs (the GM is lighter iirc), which isn't a huge factor for off-roading like it would be for racing. I personally hate sliding calipers so I'd toss them both in the trash and get 4 or 6 piston calipers, but that's probably beyond the scope and budget of the project.

cheap to rebuild I'm guessing. They should stop an FJ pretty good.
