  • SCORE-- found a harness, fuel system advice?

Craigslist, down on the Cape: $120 for an ECM (1227165), a harness, plenum, throttle body, lower intake, tubes, etc.. all from an '86-'88 Firebird.

    Harness is in good shape...

Now that I have your attention:

What's the cheapest/best way to run the fuel system:

-Custom tank, with an electric inline pump, or...

-Some type of stock tank that fits between my truck's framerails ('56 Chevy), with a stock sending unit/pump assembly?

What's the simplest and easiest system to make work with a relatively stock TPI setup?

87-91 suburban/blazer (full size) tank will fit pretty easily...the frame is the same width....don't get the 40 gallon tank though, do some measuring first. These trucks had TBI, you might need to swap to a TPI pump, but I think they look identical. I don't know if the TBI pump will make enough pressure, they run at about 13 psi regulated, while the TPI runs at about 40 regulated.

The TBI pump won't work but the TPI pump is interchangeable with it.
