  • Anyone use Microsquirt?

I'm helping my brother with his 1000cc dune buggy (BMS Sand Sniper). We have a turbo and trying to use about 8lbs of boost. The motor still has the stock ECU and a boost controller can add fuel with boost. The problem is we would like to take out some fuel when not on boost and take out some timing as boost rises. The ECU that came with the buggy doesn't seem to be easily programmable. I'm looking for some boost-referenced control of timing and fuel. I saw the Microsquirt and wondered if it would work with this setup. Anyone have any experience with this controller?

I've got the Microsquirt module, it's pretty much a Megasquirt 2 and works quite well, though I haven't done any turbo work. I would suggest you poke around at msefi.com and join the forums there; you should be able to get some relevant answers.

It will do what you want and be reasonably easy to tune.
      Escaped on a technicality.
