  • Connecting a knock sensor to a MegaSquirt II

Looking for some guidance and suggestions before I completely jump into hooking it up to my MegaSquirt. The details:

    MegaSquirt II PCB 3.0 board
    Firmware: MSII v2.89
    Connecting through the Relay Board
I have S1-S4 controlling the IAC valve.
    I have S5 controlling timing.
    The F-Idle terminal is unused.
I have a knock sensor and GM knock module from a late '80's Chevy Truck installed.

EFI, Fuel Injection, Auto, automotive, car, TPI, computation, ECU, MegaSquirt, GPIO, MicroSquirt, Sequencer, stim, MegaShift, MShift, DIY, transmission, 4L60E, 4L80E, controller, shifter

I have a few questions too. Can I some how run the knock sensor signal through the relay board (via F-Idle terminal or ?) or do I have to go straight to the megasquirt (JS4)? Can I assemble the circuit that drops the voltage for the MS at the GM module pre-relay board/MSII or should I just do it on the proto-board? The another question pertain's to what settings need to be set to reconize the input?

    Any guidance is appreciated, thanks

I'd put the circuit in the proto area. It is possible to bring the signal in through FIDLE, but you'll have to butcher the idle output circuit to let it bring the signal in.

Thanks Matt, looks like I have to play by the rules :P
