  • MAF on blown engine - some basic questions .....

Here a question I can't find an answer to:

On a turbo engine with a MAF installed upstream of the turbo ( if that is the best placement?), how does the fuel controller deal with the delay getting air from the MAF to the intake port?

If at no boost fine, but under boost the air pressure change so is the MAF transfer function out of whack???

    Hurting head....

I recommend placing the MAF sensor between the turbo and the intake so it is measuring the actual air entering the engine. Place any blow-off valve before the MAF so it is not measuring this air too.

No experience but that's the way I'm planning on doing it. The OEM's have done it both ways but a friend of mine did some experiments on the differences in placement before he passed.
