I've seen a few people using JB weld to hold injector bungs in and was wondering how long they last. Has anyone been running a car with JB welded bungs for a couple of years? Also how well do they stand up in a boosted application?

Re: JB Weld for injector bungs
I take solace in the fact Holley shows it as an option in their injector bung installation instructions.

Re: JB Weld for injector bungs
JB Weld is surprisingly effective in that application. We used it on the Maverick on our custom TBI: tack welded the bungs in place, then filled the gaps with JB.

Re: JB Weld for injector bungs
I have JB weld sealing up the front of my oil pan (the welds were pinholed so I got them as close as I could with steel then filled it in with the 2 part epoxy. I have quicksteel in the timing cover too as a filler between the aluminum sections then formagasketed it in place. I'd be more worried with it breaking down overtime vs its strength. Re: JB Weld for injector bungs
Yeah, I didn't think strength would be a problem, just concerned with how well it will last. How difficult is it to weld the bungs in without distorting them? I have a friend who's good at TIG welding aluminum but would I still need to ream the bungs out afterwards?
