  • TPI - What do I need to make this work?

Box full of parts for what I think is an '86-'88 TPI setup, but the computer is an oddball.

    Runner with idle-air passage

Injectors and fuel rails... upside down. : Its got two oddball injectors that look different... plus the 9th inj for cold-start.

Throttle body with idle air hole

Intake base... needs a good cleaning.

Distrib, sans cap. Filthy, but looks to be in decent shape. Keep it? or go with HEI?

    The REAL question... the ECM

Junkyard scrawl: 'No fuel pump' '90 3.8 Firebird'

The IMPORTANT piece; which of these numbers is the 'ECM number'? These numbers don't correspond to any of the 'correct' ECM numbers my web research has produced...

    So.... here's the poop:

Can I make an '87ish TPI work with a '90 computer?

And what do I need for it?

I did something like this years ago, I think we used a 90-92? computer on a 86 engine. Hacked together the harness, ordered the prom from the dealer (16151348 is the part number, I still have the box), the computer was a 7277 or something? (that's the last 4 digits of the service number)

Had to make a 30 hz square wave generator to disable VATS. Because I was too cheap to get a reprogrammed chip

      That's not a TPI, or a '90 ecm. That's a later PCM.
