  • Finally Got It Fired.... AGAIN... ONE LAST TRY

I got the Rampage fired up and did a quick check of the trans
and things seem to be fine.. Dale (quick52) stopped by to help
me line up my exhaust.. that was the last thing to do before firing
it up.... well at first I wasnt getting fuel pressure.. I had my supply
and return lines on backwards so no pressure on the gauge.. so
turned them around.... fired up and did a quick check of the trans
and things looked good.. had all the gears and the OD worked...
I have a few minor things to check but I'm hoping to make the
Hines Drive cruise this weekend .. I'll give it a test run around
here tomorrow and see how things look... if all is good then I'll
try the cruise this weekend... that will be about 125 miles round
trip.. so I'll get a good idea how things are looking for DW.... then
its check the tow rig and trailer..... will this work ever quit
    EDIT
I dont have reverse.... I'm giving it one last shot.. time is short.. but
    I'm pulling the engine/trans today

I ran it a few hours today... got the injection pretty well set up..
I did find a small oil leak at the upper edge of the pass side valve
cover that I need to look at... the temps stayed between 180-200
            the whole time

You are done? But it needs to be fixed. I feel your pain I've had my trans out four times this year and missed the cruise because of it. Get a different trans and plug it in. Life is too short to give up when there is still time to get this rolling for Drag Week.

I have one more thing to try.... if it doesnt work I just
wont bust my ass to get it done by DW... I need to
let my chest heal up from my by-pass.. it still hurts
I havent taken it easy like the doc said... I'm gonna
                    give one shot
                    EDIT
I have to pull the engine and trans to get it out

I'm giving it one more shot.... I'm pulling the engine/trans today... I took my
spare trans into a local shop just to check it.... I went through this one
myself and I think its fine but they can check it.... the previous trans was
done by a friend and 2 times it had a issue... this one in it now is from
the bone yard but it looked good and so did the fluid but it has no reverse
(it does but its like the front clutch isnt coming off for reverse... it moves in
reverse but you have to rev it... like the brakes are on... but they arent)....
so this is the last shot.... I'm running out of time... might have to do my
                        track adjustments on DW

I had a similar issue with the last 727 I rebuilt, and I took it apart and didn't find anything wrong with it. I think it's just the forward clutch frictions are kind of fuzzy and drag. It's only a problem the first time it moves in reverse when it's cold, after that it's fine
