Drag Week permits the time to have the same start and finish track. Three days of racing would just be a drive to a track and back, which sounds more ho-hum to me.

Randal, we have enuff tracks here in the NJ/Maryland/Pa area that we could run one track in the AM drive over 100+ miles and run another track at night for 3 days.....and it could be epic. ( Cecil, MIR ,Island, englishtown, maple grove, atco, beaver springs, nemidia ! I may be missing a few! )

I always have wondered why is Hot Rod so afraid of the East Coast.

Hell yes there will still be Drag Week.. and 4 Weekend runs... look
at the money they drag in.. $250 for the weekend runs.. $360 for
the week run.. $25 for a T-shirt.. they're killing it

I wonder how much money they lost on the first Drag Weekend? 4 days of track rental, they only took in $15k in entry fees. rental cars, hotels, etc for the staff, there were probably half as many folks working the event, as there were racing!

They could have promoted it better and earlier to get more cars..
really all I hear was some last minute maybe's they would have it

yeah, it was definitely a last minute thing. hopefully they'll have better turn out at the next one out west, and I expect the east one will be quite a bit bigger.

They tried to get a starting point that was sorta central for the east and
then for the west... putting them on the coast(either side) is too far for
the other side of the country... they did it right being centralized.. but
they did over kill the west runs with the OK tracks.. just to try and
get the Street Outlaw group to come and run and they got the one girl
from the show(as far as I know)
