We'll be there with my '67 Charger and the '71 El Camino my dad is putting together from spare race parts. If he doesn't get his car done in time, I told him he has to run my rusty '71 Challenger.

DW is "go go go gotta go, we're never gonna get there" for 5 days straight. RW is far more relaxed. Having all evening racing this year will be interesting.Last edited by BBR; February 26, 2020, 01:26 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Forgot to add, I gave him a parts list and estimate to get his ElCo on the road and in the 11's - a little over $12K. Long story short, we're going to nitrous the crap out of my stock 5.9L Magnum junkyard engine in the Challenger and spray our way to 11's or melt trying. we're even bringing a spare longblock. Who knows, I may even drop the pan and pull the heads to gap the rings. Maybe, maybe not.
What do you think it will take from the bottle to get a 3400 lb car& driver to 11.99?
Engine is about 300 HP at the crank as it is. We're going from a .410/.417 (not a typo) lift factory roller cam to a .533/.547 roller and headers, and spraying the rest of the way. I have a Thumper Carburetors 650DP on there, and have a Holley 850 Ultra HP ready to go. 3.55s on a limited slip and Caltracs on Mono's with adjustable rears and 90/10 fronts.

I think I read that they were shooting for gates opening at 3. If it is anything like the evening race days in past years, it was darn near open ended. The track stayed open longer than we wanted to hang around. We were able to get as many passes as we wanted.
idk how much spray, but it's gonna take way more at Bandimere than it will at Great Bend!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I got in. Unfortunately I didn't want to drive nearly 1,500 one way and not be competitive. I had made the key changes to the car but not all of them and after hemming and hawing for.a few hours and what to do, I became too late to leave in time to make it by 3 pm CST for tech inspection.
As the car sits it should run mid 13's but it needs to run low 13's. Stinks, I really wanted the track time, I should have gone anyway. I could have still gone and run the event not in my class though I suppose.

Got there around 5 and it took most of an hour just to get in. Long lines to buy tickets. I stayed til eight and saw Mike Finnegan on the way out selling shirts with one of his guys. I guess he broke the hemi again. Thought I might have recognized one of the street outlaws guys in the pits. There was a vette kart that hauls ass.
