  • We've all done this, I think?

I'm guessing we've all talked to our cars before but have you ever held a conversation with one? I walked back into my garage this morning and I hear a voice from under a car cover saying -

Purple II - "well is Drag Week over"

    me - Yes

Purple II - I bet Larry won again

me - that was a safe guess

Purple II - when are we going back

me - you're not fast enough

Purple II - so call Scott/Diesel Geek

me - it would cost too much to make you competitive

Purple II - so get off your dead A$$ and make some money

me - even if that were possible I don't think I want to go 200+ mph in a 1/4 mile

    Purple II - you've already been 180+ so that's only 20 mph

me - I'm too old to go that fast

    Purple II - Chicken $hit

me - I walked out and slammed the door, I hate that car!

Just an Old Drag Racer that still has dreams of going fast!

      Phil.
we've dicussed this before.the main reason you built II was for DW.. you know the car is capable of some 7.0's or even better maybe. and you cant go into it thinking thats not fast enough . because you never know who is going to finish.. lets face it, your not getting any younger, and you still plenty young enough. and if you need a co-piolet i will be there at the drop of a hat... you farther ahead of the game than most.. you already have a turn key car. just massage it a bit ... im sure you would have more people pulling for you than you could ever imagine. and its FUN!!!

Phil the formula is pretty well documented with the twin turbo power and some form of transmission that can raced and driven. Larry has set the bar high but not insurmountable.

A liitle more prep and practice helps like I wish I could have done instead of having to drop out because it overheated on the road.

Don't worry about going fast, put some miles on the car and have fun with it.
