  • Rules!

Are being proofed at this moment, per Facebook. (7:37 PM Central time, 2/3/2012)

Apparently, they are also going to try to crack down on chase vehicles. I don't remember reading many comments about that, but I must have missed something...
Why think when you can be doing something fruitful?

A promise of rules, actually...which is like, the 4th.
They are cracking down on "bogus chase vehicles", which doesn't scare me because all my chase vehicles were legitimate!!

Yeah, it makes me wonder what the back story is on that...

There has been some clown cars (like at the Circus), 2 guys in the car with 10 working on it.............. (Where do they hide all those guys in a Clown car)

That would be my best guess.

Yep- if you watch Kyle's video from last year, you will see at least one car where the pit crew showed up when it was on the side of the road. Folks were pulling the hood and working on it while the driver sat in the car and waited. Not hating, just observing...

Hmm I recognize someone in that video... Guess I must have lost my red nose and big feet somewhere when I got out. Guess next time I will say "F U" to the friends I have made on DW and keep going. Would not make for a fun ride home after DW if the son said the same thing to Dad.

I understand the owners of the car in distress are not very liked, so I will leave it at that.

It's a fine line between helping a buddy and being considered his pit crew I guess. I purposely tried to keep my distance from moparman63 at the tracks so no one got the impression I was just there to support them.... not that he and his brother would ever need any help I could give! lol

I'm not remotely competitive in the BB/NA class I was in so it really doesn't effect me a whole lot but even I noticed what Jeff mentioned on a few occassions at the track. ~5 guys seeming very familar with vehicles that clearly was driving with only two (no usable backseats). It's one thing on the side of the road or helping out swapping tires or even a transmission thrash grabbing any labor willing to help, but IMO you generally don't have some other guys pulling your valve covers, doing simple under hood stuff or popping your hood when at the track. Or at least looks "suspicious" rather it's legit or not I didn't go asking questions. Like BBR, someone could easily say me and my slo ride were there "just for support" if I ended up helping Doc or Jake do any major repairs. Definitely should be interesting to see what Hot Rod has come up with for rules.
                      Escaped on a technicality.

Thank god I keep everyone pissed off and my junk is so slow it never breaks. I don't think I'll have to sweat the "pit crew" in a 15 passenger E350 chase vehicle. They won't be looking at me, but if someone is busted and I can help them and they need it, I think that would be okay?

I wonder if they will start slowly weeding out the slow non drag cars and bring in a rule that you have to be so fast to compete in the Drag week over the next few years as it grows larger and larger. ( hope not as my car is far from fast haha) or cut offs in each category?

and yah, i didnt see a whole lot of support cars? but i really didnt know what i was looking for. just thought people were being nice and helping eachother out. i would have stopped as well but i was having enough trouble trying to limp from city to city those first 2 days in the heat.

I'm either blind or stupid - maybe both. I can't find Rules or Registration?
