  • Inform the announcer thread -

    Hey dudes,

I'm obviously going to try and hang out with, learn about, and meet as many of you as I can during the week. I'll also be helping with tech on Sunday and that will allow me to see lots of cars up close and personal, but I am hoping to have a thread where you can give me some really basic info regarding your drivetrain combo. Just looking to have some info to get me rolling on Monday.

I have put together about 20 pages of notes, stats, and info on all the nooks and crannies of the event, but that doesn't help me with some basics on your cars.

Make of motor, cubes, induction transmission. All in super general terms if you can!

If you are asking in truth, 1993 Mustang LX. 351 Windsor based 408. A production 2 bolt main block from a PU. Stock hydraulic roller lifters, some lifters have been in 3 different engines, a couple used lifters from parts unknown. Near stock pressure valve springs. C4 trans w/brake, 8.8 axle with 3.55 gears. Rear springs from discount auto store. Front struts are stock, they have never been replaced. NOS as power adder. Entire car was built in my garage.
              Hope this helps, Tom

                  Lol very nice. Don.

                  On a more serious note.
My junk, all 3850 pounds ready to race with me in it. Started as a stock gp from Cali. You can't find rust on it if you try. Original 26 year old gm paint. Minus the hood. It's a dart block. 421 cubic inch small block Chevy with out of the box Brodix track 1,s. it's a pump gas motor and made 628 on the engine dyno. Has a Hughes manual valve body 350 trans and a 9 inch with 4.10,s and a spool. Car goes 10.60,s on motor and thanks to induction solutions has gone 9.70,s on a 150 shot. Hopefully the prep will be good and we will see what it does on 200 in Tulsa.

You probably know this but I like to type it. 545" BBFord, Herbert solid roller, TFS heads, pump gas, gargantuan C6 trans I bought on ebay, 4000 converter, 3.55 gears in an 8.8, stock struts, car quest shocks, nothing real fancy.

1983 C10 496cu.in. BBC pieced together from e-bay. Some bids I won and some I wish I hadn't. Scat crank with h-beam rods and 10.2 forged pistons. Crane solid roller cam (out of a boat) Speedway 2600 rpm converter with a TH400 tranny. 12 bolt out of a 75 C10 with 3.50 gears. Was totally built in a barn and/or high school ag-shop with the exception of driveshaft and boring the block.
Starting out with an 850 Demon atop a Team G single plane but am going to try and get a Predator installed before Sat. Have no idea what it will do, but it has been fun driving it around. BTW names Jesse (Old John Deere mechanic trying to figure out what to do if I ever grow up)

Our Fairlane Wagon = 4.6l (281ci) modular motor out of a 1993 Lincoln Mark 8 (stock), ProCharger D1SC (about 12psi), on E85, controlled by an EMS Pro.
                        5-speed manual tranny, 8.8 rear w/ 3.73 gears.

I have a very good friend & his wife (Mark & Angie Covey) that we conned in to going on Drag Week this year. He has a dark blue 1970 Buick GS with a n.a. 455 Buick, also on E85 (carbureted), TH400 trans, 12 bolt rear. The car has not run in almost 15 years. If the car makes it we will not be firing the new engine until the Saturday before Drag Week.
Here are a couple pics of it from a few weeks ago.
