I agree Tony, I had a really long hard thought process to deal with when I cooked my block 2 years ago on to go LSX or stay Pontiac. Maybe I am still thinking with what happen this year but I think it's going to iron out. I hope. I also stayed away from a 9" just for who makes it. And to stay pure.

The LS platform is great when looking stock to stock compared to a Gen I SBC and also works well with high boost since the bottom end is very strong. But past that with aftermarket parts the Gen I seems to hold it's own very well.

Now to go with an all aluminum LS in a stripped out Mustang is logical, you could probably get it to 2600lbs with 180 driver and moly cage pretty easy.

Just so he doesn't have to tell you I will. There's an AMC axle under there!
That which you manifest is before you.

Both his drag cars are fox mustangs, I tease him about it but they do work and are easy. I even went as far as getting him a studebaker hawk to build a street car from and instead it sits and he built another mustang.. I dont know what else to do.

That's just one of the reasons why your car is so cool Tony. I couldn't ever build a cross breed car despite my poor attempt at humor to the contrary. It's also why I have an AOD in my heap even though everyone knows they won't live behind a big block in a heavy car.

That said the only component with a Ford part number in my engine is the crank and that is an historical accident with Bryant buying all the old SVO 4.5" Pro Stock forgings.

Vince, you were a tiny bit of spring clearance and setup away from a jacket this year. All you need is to send your heads, valve train parts and intake to Maloney Competition Systems in Virginia where Brian Rock had his top end done. Give him a call. And stay all Pontiac.

Thanks Bill, yours being what it is, is cool as hell too, just love things that are not cookie cutter. You have to want to make some things fast but thats jsut me I can walk by hundreds of 32 fords with small chevies, not gonna take a look at them. lots of the cars on drag week are of the cool variety, jakes, docs, jeffs, the maverick, etc, just cool.

Was considering using my single 4 intake this yr because the tunnel is not really sized right and would be way easier if I needed to remove it on the road but its been on my car for 27yrs, its just part of it. I dont know, hard the change you know.

What do you mean? 2nd place was a 10.14......I averaged a 9.97. Low for the week was a 9.89.
