  • Air Compresors

How much CFM does it take on avg. to hold up valves and keep up with blowby?

Is there a 12v comp. that could handle this?

I notice most use a little Honda generator and a pancake comp. What model generator and what brand/model comp? Thank Youuuuuu!

Nylon rope instead of air? no additional equipment required - works fine.
There's always something new to learn.

You break the valve seal to the seat and no amount of cfm will hold it shut. More pressure over cfm.

As for leakdown, it does not take much, a small portable compressor will work fine.

This is the compressor I use for trips, I took it with on drag week but didnt use it, by itself it would probably work but if you carry a 5 gallon tank with you and used teh tank to fill cyl and the pump to continue replenishing tank it would work no problem.

As for the compressor they work great, have had it a few yrs and they were very cheap now they are moving up in price, think the harbor freght one is the same motor and compressor packaged different.

This is the harbor freight one, they will fill a 33 inch off road tire pretty quick.

I dont use a compressor. I just roll the motor over to TDC on that cylinder and change the spring.

I put the rope in first then roll it over I dont like to have the two hitting, but the air works best if you have a generator and compressor like we let them use this year. Glad someone needed it, I hate to think I lugged that stuff for no reason

Damn, how close are your valves to piston tops? Or you must have 40cc chambers.

The chambers are 50cc, the valve drops about 1/4" before it hits the piston. After the I get the retainer loose from the valve locks I just pull the valve up and the seal will hold the valve up in place.
