There's a hole where dw would be. Problem is I couldn't find any other tracks around it yesterday that would make a good route.

ELEVEN THINGS LEARNED FROM DRAG STRIP WEBSITES

                    11. A surprising number still have their 2012 schedules posted (And a few, such as Gilliam, LA, don't even have a website).

                    10. Lists of events/dates are better than scrolling through pages of calendars.

                    9. Every drag strip has a "Nationals" of some kind.

                    8. The Summit Racing Series ET Finals, Topeka, KS must be a really big deal (lots of tracks closed for it)

                    7. The Summit Racing Series ET Finals, Topeka, KS is such a big deal, Heartland Park doesn't list it in their schedule http://www.hpt.com/index.php?option=...nts&Itemid=255

                    6. Too many graphics and too much loud music just slow things down and are annoying.

                    5. There seem to be more drag strips in Ohio than in California

                    4. Nearly everyone has their JR Dragster final on the same weekend.

                    3. There are a lot more 1/8 mile tracks affiliated with IHRA and NHRA than one might first suspect.

                    2. Most tracks don't hold pending race dates with a "TBA" listing. (Thanks Central Illinois Dragway, Havana, for at least teasing us)

                    1. Drag strips in Middle America are too good at keeping a secret.

                      Sept 8

                      NHRA Wyo State Champ
                      Points #1 2014
Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Truck, JD
HS will run for a Regular Trophy

                      Final Points King Street #8

That is it for Sept. But I don't think this track is likely if I searched for suitable routes...

5, 4, 3, 2 are the only regions that are likely to have a participating track. The other regions are too remote.

(BTW, that NHRA strip in Alaska appears to be all done by Labor Day)

Excerpts from "The Hunt For Drag September"

Captain Finnegan: Bangshifters are pinging away with their active sonar like they're looking for something, but nobody's listening.

Supreme Commander DF (as Sean Connery): It reminds me of the heady days of Petersen Publishing and Gray Baskerville when the world trembled at the sound of our presses. Now they will tremble again - at the sound of our silence. The order is: engage the silent drive.

                                ****
                                Adm. Chad: What's their plan?

                                Captain Bruab: Their plan?

Adm. Chad: DF don't take a dump, son, without a plan.

Captain Bruab:What's he going to do, sail into Bangshift.com, pop the hatch, and say "Here it is"?

Adm. Chad: It might be just that simple, yes.

                                ***

Capt. Bangshift: I will race in Alaska. . . .And my crew chief will be a round American woman . . . and I run free nitrous, and she will install it for me. And . . . no . . . I will race an M211 truck in unlimited! ... maybe even a "recreational vehicle." And drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?

Captain Bruab: On Drag Week? I suppose. (wink, wink)

                                Capt. Bangshift: No papers?

Captain Bruab: Only for "insiders" . . . state to state.
                                * * * *

Watson: Y'know, I seen me a mermaid once. I even seen me a shark eat an octopus. But I ain't never seen no phantom DRAG WEEK SCHEDULE . . . .

                                ****
Helicopter Pilot: Fuel status says we turn back now.

Outsider: Wait a minute. Fuel status? You have a reserve, don't you?

Helicopter Pilot: Yes, sir. I've got a ten minute reserve... but I'm not allowed to invade that except in time of war.

Outsider: Listen, mister, if you don't get Bangshifters that freakin schedule, that just might be what you'll have! You got me? Now you have ten more minutes' worth of fuel, we stay here ten more minutes!
