The chambers were opened up a bit around the valves, but then shaved back down for a net increase in compression from 10.3 to 10.6, plus I advanced the cam from 1* advanced (4* advance minus 3* of timing chain stretch) to 8* advance to bump dynamic compression up as well, and in theory bring the power band down some so at cruising rpm it may be a bit more efficient than before. Plus the new exhaust and I have a couple other tricks I want to try out.

After I install the 9" rear I'm crossing my fingers to dip into the 11's. I'm thinking 4.11s and a spool for the week?Escaped on a technicality.

I don't really think you're seriuos... but what those guys said. Have you driven a go-kart with a live axle in the rain ? Damn thing steps a foot to the right when you let the clutch out. Drifting as a daily driving style can be interesting. Left turns are kind of fun, right turns sometimes just don't happen.Last edited by Beagle; March 15, 2013, 06:47 PM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

you need to think Ford gear ratio numbers....3.25, 3.50, etc.
btw I ran 3.25 gears on DW in 2011, the whole time, worked ok. Not quite enough gear at the strip, a little too much on the road, but I don't have OD.
If I don't get a GV, I'll probably run 2.47 on the drive to BG and home, and 3.50 or 3.70 on DW.
edit: btw what was this thread about?Last edited by squirrel; March 15, 2013, 07:13 PM.My fabulous web page

3.50's should be a bunch still available from trucks.
Randal likes playing with things at the track ... six months, get some seat time with a stopwatch and see what the 4.11's do for you?Last edited by Beagle; March 15, 2013, 07:18 PM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.
