  • DW newbie questions

Figured I would start a thread for us first timers to ask the grizzled old timers so we don't look so ass backwards . ( to keep Jake from busting our asses for a year)
My first question is about the route. This year seems shorter than in the past, so are the HOT ROD staff routes where the mileage adds up, compared to say google.

Newbies: They give us a route to follow. There are usually two landmarks you need to find. You have to take a photo of your car in front of the designated landmarks; or, you will not be allowed to continue in the competition. Good luck!!!

P.S. It appears you are in the early stages of DW addiction; for which there is no known cure!!

When you hand in your time slip for the day the Hot Rod staff gives you the route to the next track. Usually it is not highways. There are also checkpoints that you need stop at and take a picture of you car in front of. You show the Hot Rod Staff the pictures when you hand you next time slip. So easy even Jake can do it!

I need to test and decide between the 3.73 and 4.10

3.73 went in 07 and they were great.

3.70 or 3.73 is really the best all-around ratio for any street car, IMO.

All depends on your tire size

My Camaro runs 4.30 gear with 28" tire 3300K at 60mph works fine
