I am of the belief that this SLR data and the 1300 reflect years of bias ply tire observation. Drag Radials skew these numbers somewhat from what I have observed. The SLR will need to be lower and the hook factor will run a bit higher.

That is what we are waiting for. The other issue is so much of what we see with Drag Radials are power adder cars and who the hell knows.

Interesting thread! The SLR chart shows my car should have had a 4.10 gear with the 3.75" stroke it had a couple years ago and a 3.73 with the 4.21" stroke I'm running now. I still have the 4.10 in it and am planning on changing it to 3.73 for Drag Week. Also, on the HF numbers it's interesting that the 1/4 mile numbers come in close to 1320 and the 1/8 mile numbers are close to 660.

My car picked up .2 going from 3.73 to 4.10 this was to the 1/8. carried it out thru the 1/4.

Finish line rpm was right on the edge of too high. I really needed more 1st gear with the 3.73 or 3.90

I also tried 3.90 and it hurt it over the 3.73

Where were you on converter? I know I've usually been too tight and more gear has helped if it will hook reliably. Nothing a season of testing wouldn't fix.
