DF did say there were too many classes.

Given the cryptic statement on Hot Rod.com that they're planning "more events" for 2015, I wouldn't be shocked if they attempt some sort of a more regional version of DW as an additional event . . . But DF continues to claim there aren't enough racers who would enter a West Coast DW (I think he's mistaken, but he's the pro with the flip-flops on the ground in Cali, not me)

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were all waiting for Faraone to yard sale it on the big end and take out a scoreboard.

        But Faraone wasn't running it at Amarillo . . . .

(I'm so ashamed of myself for taking a cheap shot at one of drag racing's historic survivor tracks . . . . )

Euthanize Daily Driver? Only the accountants and DD's themselves give it any respect. I'd put my DD in a class.

All Heads Up - wow, no massive bitching about that this year? Where is Bob anyway?

I like the idea of pulling Daily Driver back to 11.5 even if if forces me into another class- and that would be unlimited based on the trucks current configuration. This runs into a problem with convertibles that are required to run a roll bar at 13.49 I believe. But PLEASE change the name of the DD class- some people get a bur in their saddle over this name.

A few less classes would be ok. I wish there was a class between DD and unlimited that had very few rules- but that would turn into an index class real quick. I don't envy Frieburger with the rules.
Why think when you can be doing something fruitful?

The event is so popular at this point that DF could really pooch the rules and it would still sell out.

He's still euphoric from taking down "Capt. Tom Dodge" (f//k/a "Elvis") in Rd. 1 of the Shootout . . . .

I suspect many DD cars would end up in a class if DD went away... The question would be, how many? Half? More? Less? Maybe a mandatory roll bar/cage rule for all cars to limit the numbers?

that's a really neat idea! keep the 10.80 index, but require a bar....

That's not all that bad of an idea if for no other reason than I'm not putting a bar in a car that doesn't need it - nobody wants to be called Poseur!

If you don't want a bar, put it in a class where you'll get cremated?

I think DD was supposed to put competition back into it for cars that fit either DD or Unlimited, as in to get guys out there that didn't want to play in Unlimited but don't fit any where else?

Some of us don't have a choice. It's DD or Unlimited and if you're more than 3 seconds off the mark, why clutter Unlimited? It's been said before, DD is a catch all, although that's not saying it doesn't need some tweaking.

sorry, ninja edit. DD shouldn't be a catch-all, what is it about DD that so many cars aren't fitting in a class?

                                (Feel much better now)
I, for one will be waiting for the rules to be finalized and then will make whatever changes I need to make to get into DW2015.
I will even line up against Eddie if need be. This event is just too cool to miss.
Drag Week 2012 (wet paint and no transmission but finished) Drag Week 2013 Daily Driver finished in middle of pack (again) Drag Week 2014 #56 of 126 Daily Drivers. (getting closer to the 32)
