I won a GV overdrive, so I'm not really interested in a 4L80E. I'll look around for a 6.0My fabulous web page

and you can get the ET and the MPG on the road.. thats a simple
build.... most likely will need the 4.10 gear or so to get that tank
rolling... your talking what like 4000#+ with you in it... the LS with
turbo might be a touch less weight than your BB in there... just a
guess on the weight

weight rolling.. thats no big deal with OD.. I run a Mopar and
I with with the 518 mopar trans with OD.. its .68 OD... this trans
is 40# less than if I went with a 727 and a GV... plus the trans
was $200 and another $200 for the rebuild kit and I changed over
the front pump and input shaft so I could run a high stall conv..it
doesnt have lock up anymore but thats what I had to do if I wanted
a high stall conv... with my set up and 295/55 tires and a 4.10 gear
in a 9", 5000 stall conv.. I can cruise at 75 MPH and am running 2900
rpm in OD... I'm changing over to the Holley multi port EFI right now
(should be done in a few days) so I dont know what my mileage will
be yet but I should know soon

On another note though, the 6.0 overdrive in my 3/4 ton 2001 hd gets about 13mpg empty so that 18-20 mark you want may be difficultDragweek 2012 DNF in Dallas

the 300" F150 six cylinders at about the same weight, just shy of two tons, do pretty well. 20mpg isn't unheard of from them... 500-600 hp is pretty rare, but not 20 mpg. lol.Last edited by Beagle; September 22, 2014, 11:11 AM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.
