  • Updated info.....

    From the Hot Rod board.....

    Hey everybody...

Don't fret about the tour. GM Performance Division remains the presenting sponsor despite a need for a venue change in Detroit.

We have made plans that provide an alternative venue within 20 minutes of the GM Tech Center therefore all current hotels and accommodations are fine.

We are also making the final edits on the driving directions for the entire tour ready to download and print.

Plus, we'll have a bulletpoint list that answers all of the questions posed here as well as clarify and shut down the rumors. All of that is in the works and should be live in the next two hours.

Found this posted over on the "other" forum and found it interesting-especially the part about the banners Year One gave out.

              Bob,

This year, the Kickoff Cruise Night will be again sponsored by Painless Performance. Painless will be handing out the HOT ROD Power Tour 2009 decals that were previously distributed by YearOne. They are identical in every way except they bear a Painless logo. These will be handed out primarily at the Madison kickoff to Long Haulers.

Additionally, Painless will join Air Ride Technologies and Peak as the sponsors of the autocross. All Power Tour participants are welcome to participate and the local SCCA region is assisting with timing and course setup.

Peak will then have a drag race set up at Union Grove. Participants of both the autocross and drag racing will have the opportunity to combine their times and have a chance at the title "Peak Performance Challenge" champion.

At Racine, that will be our biggest day on tour (Sunday historically is) and we'll be right on the lakefront with the tour.

Certainly there will be giveaways at all stops and this year we will be adding mobile texting to the tour for participants to stay abreast of route changes and other opportunities including giveaways.

Hopefully that answers a few of your questions.

              Thanks for writing!
