            • 181..... Wounded Knee is located south of the Badlands on the Pine Ridge Reservation. I've only been that way once, it's beautiful country. I'm sure Linda will remember the Wounded Knee occupation of the early 1970's by the American Indian Movement (AIM), however the trouble at Wounded Knee started long before.
Follow his link for some Wounded Knee history.

                          • 180...... Hey we made "The List"

Arriving from the Southwest, depending on your travel plans and eta, you may consider the Can Am Highway aka U.S. 85. The Can Am Highway connects 1478 miles from Mexico to Canada across the plains of the United States. From Cheyenne Wyoming to Deadwood the highway closely follows the Cheyenne Deadwood Stage Route, loaded with history of hold ups, captures and journeys of fortune and misfortune. The drive from Cheyenne to Newcastle as I remember is mostly vast grassland prairie and from Newcastle to Deadwood is stunning beauty with the highest altitude 6683 feet at O'Neil Pass......... Ken and Linda used to live very near the Can Am Highway.
