US 30 is now a 4 lane highway and bypasses the town. There are still a number of original markers in existence along Old US 30 in PA.Jim & Maureen

164...... I became intrigued with the Lincoln Highway when we lived in Omaha in the late 80's. I found this piece of brick pavement and original markers killing time driving around. There wasn't much out in this area, just the old Bel Air trailer court.
Thanks for sharing your picture Jim, pretty neat that these markers across the nation have survived and are being preserved. That was a fun day Phil.
This is the Lincoln Highway Bridge at Tama, Iowa. It's not very big, however it is iconic. I recently visited with a couple that drove the Lincoln Highway from Chicago to Missouri Valley, Iowa. They indicated, it was not a big deal at all. In our discussion I discovered that they had not researched much, and therefore they were traveling US 30, which is not exactly the same. To find most of the nuggets of fun, you need to drive through the small communities and find them. For example, to find this bridge, you need to go into town, it's not hard to find, but US 30 will cruise right by with out any indicator of what or where.

Only 164 days to go! We got our invite to the 70th birthday party for Hot Rod magazine and In N Out today! At least we live about 18 hours closer to LA than we did 5 years ago.Comment
