54...… Yes that picture was taken at Devils Tower, that is the remnants of the Rogers and Ripley Stake Ladder. In 1893, William Rogers and Willard Ripley constructed a 350 foot ladder to climb to the top. They planned a great celebration featuring Bill Rogers climbing Devils Tower wearing an Uncle Sam suit, placing an American Flag on the summit. There is a viewing stop on the path around Devils Tower, with pipes on stakes to look through, the pipes are aimed at the ladder and difficult to see until you know what to look for. I think most people are expecting to see a traditional ladder, unless you know what to look for, it is difficult to figure out. Read about it here
