I live 2 miles from the Parkway headquarters at Tupelo. What section of it do you plan to drive?

Traveling north of Jackson some of the places to look for that are not part of the Trace that may be of interest to you: Kosciusko Visitor Center, French Camp Historical District (good restaurant) the Truck Stop @ Mathiston (good food, reasonable price), in Tupelo there is the Elvis Birthplace and Museum, the Tupelo Automobile Museum, Natchez Trace Headquarters and Museum, Collinwood TN visitor center. From Jackson MS to Nashville is about the same as the south end, all of the interesting places are at the pull outs. The Lovelace Café is at the north end of the trace. Leipers Fork TN is also a neat stop near the north end. From Jackson to Tupelo is about a three hour drive and Tupelo to Nashville is about four hours if you don't stop and do any sightseeing.

A local car club does a cruise on the trace every year from hwy 72 going north to Nashville ending up at the Loveless Cafe......

....I ve gone twice on with them on the cruise.....the two things about the trace that stands out there is a speed limit at times is really enforced and at other times everyone is going around you above the speed limit.....the second is the bike riders that use the bike lane riding with the traffic flow. The bike lanes come to an end at bridges and other obstacles at which the bike riders whip out right in front of you without any warning.....it annoying but it is still a very nice cruise on a beautiful day........
That steely eyed look I had behind the wheel was me trying see..........

Damon, either 72 or I-565 will get you to I-65. I don't think there is anyplace to hang out to wait on someone at the I-565 intersection, so 72 may be a better choice. 383-S10 lives close by, maybe he can help.

Damon Im guessing you are coming over the way I go to Atlanta.......I-75 to head through Rome GA to Ft. Payne AL across Hwy 35 to Hwy 72W into Huntsville to I-565W to I-65N......a meeting I would suggest would be the Tennessee Welcome Center on I-65 just across the stateline....our group is meeting there at 8:30 to 9:30 am Friday morning.... roll out time is 9:30 with 1 bathroom stop in KY at the Flying J truck stop just past the Kentucky Welcome Center......if you need anymore info for stuff around here let me know......

I'm not getting on 75 at all but yes, what you mentioned is about right. I'm looking to meet up with Perry (corvettedad) around there close to that time. Maybe we can tag along but 70-75 mph is all I can run (no overdrive).

Country fan fair is the 7th-10th in Nashville. A day late and a dollar short. Debating on when to leave for KY. Map Quest says nearly nine hours. If I go Friday I won't have to leave super early and be in the car all day before going to the show. Just have to pay for an extra night.
