  • My plan B!!!!

If I get it done in time it will be in Charlotte at least. Hopefully! My little HOTROD will be 72 volts I hope by then. Rhett approves of it already.

I talked to the wife earlier tonight and it's a go on the 72 volts. I gutted the old dragster 72 volt stuff today just in case. Now to get busy on it and get it ready for Myrtle Beach and then Charlotte.

That is so cool. I don't think I've ever seen a cart like that before, is that a custom "one off"?

You sure an LS won't fit in there?

Edit: Just saw your post on 67-72Chevytrucks.com.

Very cool you're keeping it going.

Jesse it is a one off for sure. Bill was a barber by trade but he loved wood working. He cut all the wood himself for it.
I went by the local surf shop here in Garden City today and picked up a board for it. Timmy is going to do the board up for me to match it and do a memorial on it for Bil.

I got the surf board cleaned up and ready to take to have painted. Going to have a friend air brush it to look like wood.Click image for larger version

I've been down at the beach house for 5 days and it's driving me crazy. I need to get home and start working on Woodie so he will be ready for the car show in March here at the beach. I have ordered a GPS spedometer digital voltmeter and parking lights to add to him. I'm going to take the dash out and cut a new one for the speedo, digital meter, head light's & key switch. I will hook the lights up to the high beam indicator to let me know they are on and may see if I can use the turn signal lights for the parking lights.

Woodie got a new posi unit rear end today along with a new 72 volt motor! A good cleaning and new battery trays installed. I also got the Foward/ Reverse mounted in the floor and the opening cut for the cables. I cleaned up and got all the 72 volt electronics ready to install as soon as I finish the coating on the under side.

My B plan is running! The posi trac rear end makes for some interesting rides at speed! I'm waiting on GPS speedometer and digital volt meter to arrive and cut a new dash for it. 9-8 volts a little over $1100.00 in batteries! 00 welding cable for the battery cables. Here are a couple of video's. I got the shifter in and trying to find a cool knob for it.

I bought a old friends golf cart. I’m doing a make over on it. 36 volts to 72 volts!

It's a lot better than I thought. 35 + MPH and stayed at 30MPH going up hill! It's so fast it blew the door off! Not really but it blew it open so that's why the video stopped.
