put a tire block at front tire, both front and back of tire to keep truck from rolling/moving
Now get in the truck and put it in drive, then into r, then drive. A few times at idle it should not be enough to move the truck. but enough to move the axle flange , but the drum can't move as it is on the brick. the stud holes are larger than the studs so, the axle flange will move after a few cycles of shifting from d/r/d/r/d/r/.
now jack up that axle side, and remove drum.
Got it off. Worked it back and forth with a big hammer. Noise was the pad coming off the shoe and was metal on metal with the pad grinding around in there.
