this is the route i heard also.
one year i stayed east of beale street and didn't have any problems, but that doesn't mean anything. one of our best nites ever on PT was on beale street

Last time I backtracked from Chattanooga to Nashville for the day and then headed home.

Been there twice on HRPT. We also went to the first "F Body" Nationals there. That was OK but the locals warned us to be careful where we went to. We stayed at the downtown HIE & we were the only white people there. And the locals that worked there warned us against walking the mile or so to Beale Street. So we didn't go that time. We went down to Beale for the car shows in the street on both HRPT's though & had a good time. We would definitely go back.

I stayed at motel 6 in Memphis and the bathroom sink was falling off the wall. Water stains on the lobby ceiling.

Yes on the last day. We went Hoover to Mobile w/o problems one year.
