  • Space Shuttle Atlantis Liftoff - 2:28pm EST

Space Shuttle Atlantis is taking "tons" of supplies to the International Space Station and bring back one of the ISS crew.
    ;D

    Mission: STS-129
    Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Atlantis
Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A
Description: Space shuttle Atlantis will deliver components including two spare gyroscopes, two nitrogen tank assemblies, two pump modules, an ammonia tank assembly and a spare latching end effector for the station's robotic arm to the International Space Station.

I realize that most Americans take the Shuttle lauches for granted,
.. but I still get a thrill and a feeling of pride.

From my front yard, Atlantis is heading up just above the treeline.

There have been a lot of benefits the average person gets from the technology involved with the space program.

We're not talking about the use/misuse of said hammer .

I have always wanted to go to Florida and watch a launch, maybe someday. I think they also invented the very expensive toilet seat too.
It's not the destination, but the journey and the friends you make along the way that counts.

Yes but you wouldn't want to put such a fine ___ on some discount fixtures - would you?

I believe all the Sheiks of Arabia outdid NASA with their 24K gold toilet seats !
                          :D

"The ultimate in luxury toilets was showcased recently at the Extravaganza luxury exhibition held in Moscow - a gold plated toilet.
It is priced at a staggering 250,000 Euros.
The gold toilet is equipped with advanced plasma mirror and digital control devices.
The decoration material used is gilded marble.
The gilded toilet has been fascinatingly christened 'Moscow.'"
