I should have known that I would be scolded.

I was removing a collector bolt (3/8 - 16 -- you would probably call it a header bolt because of the 7/16 head). The threads in the flange are perfect , the threads on the bolt are perfect. The wrench broke in my hand - no cheater bar attached. So regardless if I was using it in correctly - for me to be able to break steel in my bare hands made me feel special (or stupid for buying such high quality tools).

Now I have to ponder apologizing to Allen. I certainly didn't mean to "scold" you on your choice of tools and their usage.

I should have known that I would be scolded.

My bad. I was thinking that the only time I was able to break a wrench like that was to hook another wrench or some other "device" around it to get some (OK, a lot) more torque out of it. I assumed (my bad again) that Allen "may" have done the same thing. I should have known that Allen would not/never have done such a thing. I am now sure that it was a freak (Allen or the wrench?) incident. That is why tools and equipment have warranties right...because stuff happens. Just wondering, does the warranty also cover smashed fingers? Perhaps I will have to ponder that question for a while. In the meantime, sorry Allen for assuming you "cheated" that "high quality" wrench

Pondering beating tow guy with a tire iron for not paying attention while putting my car on the flatbed. And then taking same tire iron to myself for letting him do it.
