I lost almost a day of travel time because of I-29 flooding and that was the week after powertour! Most of the people in the area looked well prepared as I saw countless buildings that were surrounded by sandbags. They probably look like small islands now.Powertour off/on since 2002

As I am sure I have mentioned there is very little room in the Nova to store stuff so I am going to need a trailer to haul the tools and spare parts.
I booked a trailer through U-haul
As I am sure I have mentioned there is very little room in the Nova to store stuff so I am going to need a trailer to haul the tools and spare parts.
I booked a trailer through U-haul – As I was past up the line in reservations the size of the trailer went from a 4x4 to a 4x6 to a 4x8 (850 lbs empty). Then I was told that it could be anywhere within 100-150 miles of Topeka. They would let me know where I would have to pick it up the day before.
I picked up the 4x5 trailer and cancelled the U-haul.
It was galvanized with blue strips and a black top. It looked perfectly fine to me. The guys in the shop were having a slow day and it was decided that the trailer should be bright yellow with a black strips to match the car.
It made it into primer today. Some how I think I will end up finishing it. I haven’t spray painted anything in many years. Can you say runs and sags!!!
Things done since the last update
- The welding on the new cage was finished tonight.
- I got the gear vendors in place and picked up the new drive shaft this afternoon
- Changed the engine and trans oil
- Order Speed rated tires (ordered them from Summit – I could not find anyone around here that could get them in less than 2 weeks)
- Wired the car for the trailer lights
- Picked up the new trailer
- Added additional lights and wiring for the Car hauler trailer extension
- replaced the battery feed front the back to the front of the car (fried by the first chassis guy)
- install and remove the mufflers and pipes several times (they are off again now)
- talked to Drag week personnel about doing me test runs during drag week (they said I might be able to do it all on the test and tune day if we get there early enough)
Things left on the to do list
- Take the car back for a 2nd chassis inspection - Monday
- Take the car in for a front end alignment – Friday morning
- Paint the new cage
- Put the whole car interior back together (the carpets were glued down to the floor and we had to rip them out)
- Pick up and mount a fire extinguisher
- Install the wiper motor and wipers
- Fab. brackets to hold the new trailer on the back of the car hauler
- Repair a broken fan on the intercooler system
- Rework the drive shaft loop as it is interfering with the Gear Vendors unit
- Wire the Gear Vendors unit
- Fab. and install the parachute brackets and hardware
- Finish painting the trailer
- Get some street time on the car
- Pour water on my Credit cards to cool them off before I put them back in my wallet
- Sleep
- Cut the grass
- Clean up the garage and the yard for the party on Saturday
- Dig a new fire pit
- Install ear plugs nightly to block out Tammy praising me for working so hard on the car and about the fact that the deck and the stairs to the deck are not going to be finished for the Party
Started a new list called the maybe list or low priority list
- Install a Radio and speakers
- Install the 2nd fuel tank for race fuel
Funny how the bottom list seems to keep getting longer
Tanner is learning a ton of stuff and his hands and finger nails are black all of the time. He just might become a Car Guy. I am fairly certain that one good blast down the track with hook him good. (Super charger disconnected)
