Some of you may remember that I have been considering a new wheel & tire combo for the wagon. In a rare moment of clarity, it came to me that I could perhaps improve my Buckyesque driving skills while making a sincere effort to mend fences with my GM buddies

            • I didn't think you could do anything to make the wagon ugly, but that is a darn good start. Please put the real tires and wheels back on it before word of this leaks out..........

Yep it kinda looks like one of those whale looking Caprice wagons from the rear. So am I to assume that the wagon is home and in assembly mode as we speak??

Yes - or more accurately - in inspection mode right now.
I have finished reinstalling the fuel tank and have tested the entire fuel system for leaks. It appears that the new regulator and return line are all good - I am still VERY skeptical that the Holley HP150 pump is going to go the distance this year so I will be bringing my backup Carter just in case.

If I don't find any problems this weekend as I inspect / test the rest of the powertrain - then I will start the reassembly process next week. I have not driven the car since I changed the transmssion case and and freshened the internals so LOTS of opportunity for issues there. The valve springs have ~15k on them and perhaps worry me the most as I don't know what to expect as far as longevity goes at .630 lift. I test them each year before tour but that won't do me much good if they give up on the road.

Looks more like a pontoon boat on one of those funky/tipsy trailers....or is that the effect you were going for?
