i am such a slow typist that i tend to leave a lot of the meat out of a thought as it goes from brain to cyber space....i meant the pin point accuracy of adjustment demanded on the tv cable to keep from toasting a freshly rebuilt tranny in 15 minutes. i am going to check the tci site now, but isn't that for 4th gear lockup and shifting at wot?Maybe I can clear this up.....I thought the cop was a prostitute. -
Does this have anything to do with that left over check ball from last time??Originally posted by cstmwgn View PostThis can't be a good sign

Nope - as part of the case change last year, I had some modifications made to the direct drum to increase the number of plates and to improve clutch life. The clutch life part entailed some extra drain holes which just happen to discharge in an axis that flings oil directly into the transmission vent cavity. The results of this has caused a noticable oil leak through the vent (just figured this out tonight talking with my friend that builds racing transmissions for a living). Now there appears to be at least two options - take the transmission apart and build a baffle (windage tray) over the vent cavity entry ports OR plumb an overflow/expansion tank off the vent port on the case. Since we hadn't figured out the windage cause/issue yesterday I pulled the transmission to remove the vent fitting (pressed into the case) and tap the hole 1/8" NPT so I could screw in a 5/16" hose barb to plumb the tank. That is all done now and the transmission is back in the car so it is doubltful that I will take it back out to build a windage tray. Now I just have to figure out where to mount the tank as the engine compartment is getting pretty full!Originally posted by 200WINS View PostDoes this have anything to do with that left over check ball from last time??Comment

You might want to try Bowtie Overdrive's TV Made Ez system. I'm using it on my 700R/468 BBC and it was very easy to install. I've got about 12,000 miles on the tranny and it hasn't toasted it yet.Originally posted by 173rdherd View Posti am such a slow typist that i tend to leave a lot of the meat out of a thought as it goes from brain to cyber space....i meant the pin point accuracy of adjustment demanded on the tv cable to keep from toasting a freshly rebuilt tranny in 15 minutes. i am going to check the tci site now, but isn't that for 4th gear lockup and shifting at wot?
This is how it looks installed. This is an old photo when the Olds 455 was in the car, but you get the idea how it looks.

Allen, how did you fair from TS Debby? Sopchoppy made the weather channel . . . which is never good. Our house and garage stayed dry, but the shop had a foot of water in it.Originally posted by cstmwgn View Postshould I send my garmin in for service? All is well today but it has been a hell of a couple days with over 24 inches of rain.
