I think we are OK. As always, it is a little hard to predict mother nature so we will not be sure for another couple days. I was a little confused as everyone was talking about the long lines for critical supplies - there weren't any lines at the liquor store so I have a few large bottles of rum should things get ugly!

Ed, as you know, I am a SoCal native so all my experience with mother nature has been reactive!

I liken it to getting your ass kicked the first time - until that happens you are not smart enough to know when to run! We have lots of fuel - truck full, wagon full, fairlane 2/3s full, explorer 3/4 full. Still gas in the area. I would have to find another trailer so Willow could haul the Fairlane and I could haul the wagon. But even driving Fords we should be able to average more than 15 mph which would allow us to out run Irma if need be.

I am more worried about the houses. One is high and dry (flood zone E) but made out of sticks - the other one you need an air boat on dewy mornings (flood zone A) but is made out of bricks. And yes, we have at least two days to procrastinate before it becomes critical.

At this moment in time - we are comfortably numb!

Unnerstan..............if push comes to shove, load the cat and drive the two Fords to safety. The rest is most likely well insured or replaceable. Make certain that we'll see you a few weeks.

You might want to take Willow as well she's a pretty nice gal. If you need more room leave the cats.

At this moment it time it seems we are in the direct path!
We are still trying to sandbag the new house - the window of largest risk there will be on Monday as she passes by (surge off the back side).
We MAY put up a sheet or two of board on the old house but we don't have enough materials, time or energy to do the whole place.
On a positive note - we have a good variety of spirits should our own start to sag.

I will check in from time to time until we lose power or fall down.
This too shall pass!

We'll pray for your safety and a good outcome........I might throw in we'll pray for Cobra and Monster, too as well as any other BangShifters I'm not remembering down there. And all of Florida for that matter............this looks pretty ugly from Kansas.

We just got notified that Tammy's aunt got out of Florida... she lived in Ft Myers, in a manufactured home...probably won't be anything left after it passes...

Glad to hear that. My sister is staying she lives in a brick home in palmetto .
