    • Bought a new sawzall a couple years ago after mine grew legs and wandered off. It somehow found its way back because I found it yesterday in an unusual place. The battery still had some charge left in it. LOL Ironically? I had temporarily placed my weed whacker in basically the same place a month or so ago. Its back in the tool shed now.

      • End of an era: Hammond, Clarkson, and May are retiring after this month's series finale of The Grand Tour. They do have other shows and projects separately though.

        • About a dozen car shows on saturday. Will try to go to at least two of them. Only three or four weeks left in show season. Taking next week off to probably not accomplish anything. 1600+ cars average at the Ol marais river run every september 19th ish.

          • Pondering if my tooth broke off or just fell out. Either way it's gone. Luckily I didn't swallow it.

            • Snell Race helmets... Don't know anything about them.
What is most recent approved safety level?
What is still usable but near to being out dated for track use?
Small local drag track now requires helmets for any track run due to insurance they have for the track.
Suggestions? If buying "lightly used" what to look for/not buy?

              • I would buy a new one so you can get more years out of it. Some tracks are not as picky about the date but it needs to be a Snell. You can get Bell helmets pretty reasonable especially open face ones.

                • My tires are 6 years old. Don't need to worry about that, do I? If I replace them the car will probably break down. Only been driving 3000 miles a year so don't want to spend too much.

Same deal on the Studebaker we just bought. They are 8 years old but look brand new. I'll replace them next year just in case.

                    • Put new ones on the last car and then traded it in a couple months later. Started sputtering and couldn't figure out why.

You never seem to have that issue on the Lighting

I believe that was just after the scene where James Taylor was supposed to roll the car & that was going to be the end of the show. Luckily, he didn't know how to do it so they added a bit more with a different ending.

                            • Twin Drive In theater closing on the 17th after 60? years. Independence, MO. Never saw a show there. Wish they were showing something I actually wanted to see or haven't already seen. Says the rent is too high. Why are you still renting after that long? Who the hell else are they going to rent it to out in the middle of nowhere? Like the On the border here that has been empty since like 2018 or 2019.
