Tried to call in to work. Phones not working. City doesn't like to plow our dead end street. My finger is still half numb from 5pm trying to clear the car off before dark.
Got out of the driveway Monday night. Been stuck in the snow at the intersection at the end of our street since midnight. Roadside assistance can't find a tow truck. I tried a shovel and some sand and nothing but a warning light that tells me my transmission is fubar. Had to go to the bathroom so I walked back to the house. Left a phone number with the car. Somebody will need to go to work or school eventually. There is a day care across the street. Not my fault they can't plow our street. I have now missed two days of work and may need a new transmission/car. Cops, troopers, snow plow all drove right past me sitting there with my flashers on.
Can't leave the car running forever. Down to a quarter tank or so.
My uncle died and I can't find a record of it online. Is it bad when you don't know people's real names? My other uncle's name was Elmer but everyone called him "Wop". AFAIK that's a slur from back in the day but I could be wrong. He had lung damage from pneumonia. He was married to mom's sister. Uncle Bill was her brother. They were the youngest of I think nine kids and had a different dad.
An ad on facebook links to a website that says you can buy clearance items from Advance Auto stores that are going out of business. It says carbs are $30 and engine cranes are $50. Seems a little too cheap when they could just ship the parts to other stores that aren't closing.

Seems corporate types "like" to write stuff off! Easier to sell it for scrap than to package it back up and ship it somewhere else.
Is anything happening the first of the month? I got volunteered to use my vacation time that week. Probably have to mow by then and I need to pick up the branches before that.
We have 6 cars in the barn. That means that the Studebaker is up on the lift and the GTO is parked under it. I'd have to move at least 3 cars to work on something out there. I need another barn!

Soon it will be warm enough that I can complain about the heat.
I am on vacation this week but I have to fix brother's truck. Leaf spring hanger is broken off again and the muffler fell off. The flange disintegrated at the back of the converter. One stud broke off at the manifold last time and I fudged it with a replacement that wraps around the flange. Should have another one somewhere. Same with the rear shackle. No idea where it went though.
