Things I am pondering today

It's a small world. Just got back from the movie. There was only one other person in the theater. It was my brother. We just happened to go on the same day and at the same time.

Gauge said no oil pressure so I took distributor out and primed the pump until oil came out of the rockers. Ran the drill for maybe five minutes. Gauge never moved but you can see oil in the tube. Put it back together and it started right away and ran good until I hit the throttle and it backfired. Distributor went back in where it came out. Had pictures on my phone to compare it to. IDK

Guy came by the house to make an offer. Said he heard we are close to a foreclosure. A while back brother said a payment would make us current so I gave it to him. This guy sounds like we are way behind. Thinking about going to the bank tomorrow.

Brother tried to sell his car for what's owed on the loan. Dealership in the city says OK until carfax claims a discrepancy in the odometer. Carfax says the DMV listed the car at 166k miles and every other listing says 138k like the odometer. They can scan the OBDII and it will tell you the real mileage on the computer. They are the FORD dealer. Different ford dealer did a recall repair on the car recently and listed the lower miles. Might be a typo on the title for miles or VIN IDK. Was going to give him the $ for the car and maybe other brother could drive it, but I hate drama. I don't want to deal with the DMV or anyone else. Good thing its a holiday weekend and he is moving out of state on wednesday.

Local ford dealer bought the car no problem. He should have left town by now. We'll have to wait to hear from him. It's been a week since the guy said he would be back this week about the house. Not knowing is just the best. If they kick us out we'll know. Maybe I should start packing. Been thinking how little I care about most of this crap.
Got a new oil pressure gauge for the 71. If that isn't the problem then we can try something else.

Got served papers today. They are trying to say we haven't made a payment since December. Brother says he made all the payments. We have three weeks to respond it says. It was 4pm on friday so have to wait for next week. Also, says we still owe two thirds of the loan after 19 years of payments. That doesn't sound right. Unless you pay the interest up front?

From my experience that seems possible. I think you can find an amortization table on-line that might help you see how it works. The majority of your payment goes to interest in the early years as you barely pay down the principal.

Says we owe @ 91k of 165k after 19 years of payments. Might be closer to 40%? I think the interest is 4% but not sure. I had zero credit at the time and it would have gone higher with me on the loan. I now have over 800 credit score. Everything is in brother's name so IDK much. He says he made the payments. Could easily be a bank error, its happened to him before, that's why I don't like auto payments. If he read the mail we would probably have heard something before it got this bad.
I am on the deed and taxes AFAIK, and live in the same place, IDK why they haven't tried to talk to me. My voicemail quit working and I seldom get calls that aren't spam. So I ignore them or use the screen calls button LOL. Eye dr says they get flagged all the time. I could pay on the loan if I knew who to pay it to and that they are legit. Lots of scams going on these days.

Good news is, I replaced the oil gauge on the 71 and it says at least 20. Car flooded out so I couldn't keep it running. Gotta figure out if its timing or maybe gas is going bad from sitting too long. It started and idled after I primed the oil pump until I hit the throttle then it spit up through the carb/TBI. Started easy and I put the distributor back where it came out or very close to it.

The plastic rim inside the gauge face is coming apart, and the hole the line hooks to looked damaged or maybe a piece of line broke off in it? Maybe it was overtightened? IDK

Reddit recommended a local tree company so I used their website to book an estimate. Waited four days or so and they show up for like two minutes and take one picture. Then send me a link to the estimate. I was home and expected to talk to someone about exactly what I wanted done and maybe the rest of the crap in the backyard. Nope. Makes me want a second opinion. Says they want $650. It was $300 last time but that was five or more years ago.
Does need taken care of soon. Just pisses me off. Don't know why they had to make an appointment if that's all they were going to do.

They said it will be a week to three weeks for them to come out and trim the tree. Its been at least a week. Supposed to get at least 24 hr notice.
I was looking at tires for my car and one was dated NEXT year if I read it right. Seems fishy to me...
Week and year, right? Mine are 6 and a half years old and starting to crack from age. I have only been driving 3000 miles a year, so don't want to pay for 70,000 mile tires. IDK who makes/sells the ones I have now or if they are still around. They have been good tires for a smooth quiet ride and good grip/gas mileage. We have Big O and Discount Tire here right down the road and I used to go to Performance Tire in Topeka. Some people will tell you to order them from Amazon or tire rack but you would still have to have them mounted etc...
Between the new nintendo and the tree people, I need to watch my spending right now.

Got an email stating the the terms mortgage people want to let us stay in the house. Haven't read it yet.
If we can prove the payments were made on our end, we shouldn't have to pay court costs or penalties.
Either way, I would really not like to move any time soon. A lot of shit would get left.

Texted the tree people. Told them they had four days left on their three weeks and I hadn't heard anything. They texted back that they are busy with having a life and they have kids and shit. I have a tree rubbing the roof off my house and chimney and loads of dead branches that could fall on someone any day. One good storm and house or car is screwed, but OK you're busy even though school is out for summer. If they had said it would be three weeks in the first place, I would have told them to forget it. Could probably have found someone else by now.

I have shit going on too like dealing with mortgage co trying to kick us out of the house. They want over $11k including $2400 in court costs or whatever. As of last month still trying to say we didn't make our payments.
Anyway, they told ME to forget it. Mom has a Bday this month and I have to help her move on the 17th. I had a bday right after hiring them. I had to work on the fourth and fifth. I had to try to sleep through everyone shooting off fireworks two nights in a row and miss out on actually seeing any of them. Mowed the grass the minute I got home yesterday. Wanted to pass out from the heat before I was done. Didn't want to not finish and the mower is hard to start. Rodents chewed the pull rope again. Literally just changed it last time I mowed.

BS mortgage/collection company wants you to send them cash through western union. That's not shady at all. What company doesn't have a bank account/can't take electronic payments in this day and age? Western Union has a $5000 limit with a $60 fee. I would have to make three payments and spend $150 for something the bank can do for free. OR send a certified check and hope it gets there at all let alone in a timely manner. Mentions bank wire but doesn't say how you would do that without an account #.
